As a diver, one thing I noticed
about the trumpetfish is that its body is stiff, which
makes it look peculiar as it moves through the water, as
though being pushed by some unseen force. The small fins
are difficult to see, and a tubular appearance helps the
fish blend with the tall whip corals. Trumpetfish
normally swim horizontally. Upon reaching a hiding place
it moves into a vertical posture, with the numerous fins
