This small triplefin is resting
on some coral polyps. Shown in the retracted position
with the tentacles hidden, the coral polyps are only
about 3/8 inch across. The positioning of its eyes allow
it to see all around, helping it avoid predators. The
transparency of its body helps it blend against the
reef-- its fins and much of its body are barely visible.
Identification: Helcogramma sp.
